Located at the scenic Furman University in Greenville, SC, Furman Dining Hall is not just a cafeteria; it’s a vibrant culinary retreat that draws both locals and visitors. With its stunning views of Furman Lake, this dining destination is perfect for those looking to indulge in a diverse range of delicious food while enjoying a beautiful atmosphere.

The hallmark of Furman Dining Hall is its all-you-can-eat concept, serving a variety of international dishes that cater to all dietary preferences—whether you are a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free diner. Diners rave about the extensive menu options, which are not only affordable but also change frequently to provide a refreshing experience with each visit. As Monique Damiano beautifully puts it, if you appreciate a college atmosphere paired with delightful culinary choices, this is your spot. The flavors are designed to satisfy and excite the taste buds—imagine succulent stir-fried vegetables, hearty pastas, and comforting soups that warm the soul.

While some visitors noted inconsistencies in the preparation of dishes, many others found the overall experience to be a culinary delight. Olga Gloria Sundy, who stumbled upon the hall during her visit, emphasized the joy of discovering a flat fee for all-you-can-eat dining, making it an incredible choice for both solo diners and groups. For families and groups like Jane Myers' party of ten, the variety and quality of the food, combined with exceptional customer service, create lasting memories over shared meals.

One standout feature is the dedicated staff, noted for their kindness and willingness to help, exemplified by Katama Kat's heartfelt mention of Chaka, whose prompt attention provided relief on a particularly taxing day. The commitment to customer satisfaction truly elevates this dining hall above the typical cafeteria experience.

Whether you’re planning a visit to explore the scenic university grounds, perhaps while enjoying the serene sight of swans gliding across the lake, or seeking a satisfying meal after a day of activities, Furman Dining Hall promises an inviting atmosphere and a memorable dining journey. With outstanding views, a variety of nutrition-conscious options, and hearty comfort foods, it stands as a beacon of communal dining that warms both heart and appetite.

If you like a college atmosphone and a great variety of delicious food, you'll love dining at Furman Hall. We go at least once a week and make it our meal for the day. You can find international dishes that will satisfy meat eaters to vegetarians and vegans There are also several gluten-free menu options as well. It's very affordable and offers a great view of Furman Lake, which you can walk around after eating.

Go there for camp, sometimes awesome food! Great dessert selections. But sometimes the pasta and other foods can be undercooked or in too much oil. Overall great!!

I would like to thank Chaka for his incredible generosity last Thursday, 8-18-22 I had got in late with my son the night before on a 2 plane flight from California. We barely ate and then had to unload storage and move in. I realized I hadn’t drank any water or had anything to eat towards dinner time. I felt like I was going to faint and we went to go get ice water and Chaka quickly handed me and my son bottles of water and ice. I think he may have saved me from fainting and I truly appreciate him recognizing the look on my face. Thank you CHAKA! You are a lifesaver and truly represent Southern hospitality!

EDIT 8/10/2025: Dinner is now $15.66. Inflation! Food and atmosphere are still awesome. EDIT 9/11/2024: Dinner is $13.85 this year. EDIT 9/24/2023: Dinner is now $13.34. Still a steal. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm a regular here. Daniel Dining Hall feels like one of Greenville's best-kept culinary secrets. This is an all-you-can-eat cafeteria, open to the public and serving a wide selection of quality foods in a fun, laid-back atmosphere. The cooking and ambiance are on par with any casual restaurant in town, but the value proposition is unbeatable. Dinner is just $12.84. There are lots of stations in the cafeteria, some manned, some self-serve. The former include the home-cooked dinner station, the build your own stir fry bowl station (they fry it up for you), the international cuisine station, and the vegetarian station. The themes stay the same, but the selection changes from day to day. Self-serve stations offer burgers and fries, pizza, pasta, breakfast foods all day (including a waffle maker), and the best selection of desserts my sweet tooth has ever encountered. There are also soda fountains, a salad bar, and an ice cream machine. The clientele is 99% Furman students, 1% Furman faculty, and sometimes yours truly. I don't understand how there aren't more visitors eating here. There's practically a line of sight to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. That's how I discovered the campus. Visitors can also park at the admissions office or in the small parking lot at the south end of Swan Lake. A walk around said lake is a great way to whet the appetite before dinner. One thing to bear in mind here is that operating hours are affected by the academic calendar. The dining hall is currently closed for spring break and was closed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. Recommend checking the schedule online before visiting.

This is the best dining hall I’ve been to. I am not a student, but we came to walk around to enjoy the lake and the tower chimes every 15 minutes. Really beautiful options for pictures! It was just around lunch time so we decided to try the dining hall. It was a flat fee per adult (around $14) and it’s all you can eat dinner. There is coffee/tea station, desserts, many food options, including salad bar and you can try everything if you wish. You can seat outside as well, but we found a good table by the window. It was a great experience considering the convenience and the fair price. I will be back to eat there once visiting Furman University.

Lots of healthy options at the dining hall we visited. Truly something for everyone and the service was out of this world! I’ve never seen a dining hall staff so kind and helpful.

Visiting Furman University has been a tradition since I was a child. To this day I can spend time exploring the grounds or exercising around the lake. This is like a peaceful retreat right down the road from my house. I remember the beautiful swans that would flock across the university. I have spent years visiting the lake and the gardens. One of my favorite places in Travelers Rest.

There are 10 of us visiting on campus for 5 days. We are eating 2 meals per day here. It has been delightful. The variety of food, the quality of food & the customer service is exceptional. The staff is gracious and went out of their way to accommodate.
